GameSmart CIC Launches to Support Young People’s Digital Wellbeing

GameSmart CIC has officially launched today, introducing a new, specialist organisation dedicated to helping young people and families navigate the digital world safely, confidently, and with the right support around them.

Founded by a team of experienced leaders from youth services, mental health, education, and digital wellbeing, GameSmart was created in response to a growing need for evidence‑based, compassionate guidance around gaming and online engagement. With gaming now a central part of many young people’s lives, the organisation aims to bridge the gap between enjoyment and safety — empowering young people to make informed choices while supporting the adults who care for them.

GameSmart’s work focuses on three core areas: education, early intervention, and family‑centred support. Through workshops, training, and tailored programmes, the team helps schools, parents, and professionals understand gaming behaviours, build digital resilience, and create healthier online environments for children and teenagers.

Craig, Founder of GameSmart CIC, said:

“We’ve seen first‑hand how much young people benefit from honest, practical conversations about gaming and digital life. GameSmart exists to make those conversations easier — and to ensure families and schools have the tools they need to support young people in an increasingly complex online world.”

The leadership team brings together decades of experience across youth mental health, addictions support, programme design, and digital wellbeing. Their combined expertise has shaped GameSmart’s approach: collaborative, transparent, and grounded in real‑world evidence.

Verity Bramwell, Director at GameSmart, added:

“Young people deserve guidance that speaks to them, not at them. We’re here to create spaces where they feel heard, where parents feel supported, and where professionals feel equipped to respond to the challenges and opportunities of digital life.”

GameSmart CIC will be working closely with schools, local authorities, charities, and community organisations across the UK, with new programmes and partnerships set to roll out over the coming months.
